Demonstrations/Lectures and Workshops
We host afternoon demonstrations / lectures from well known guest artists which cover a variety of subjects. We also hold workshops which are run by guest artists for those of you who want to get their hands dirty.
Demonstrations / Lectures
These afternoons are free to current paid-up members of the Association and open to non-members on payment of £5.00 on the door. They are held in the Lecture Theatre, Perth Museum and Art Gallery, 78 George Street, Perth PH1 5LB, commencing at 2pm and finishing by 4pm. Teas and coffees are served mid-way through the afternoon, with nominal charge of £1.00 per cup.
Wheelchair accessible and induction loop operational.
Workshops
FEE PER WORKSHOP: Member – £20.00 Non-member – £25.00
Workshops are from 10am – 2.30pm, with half an hour for lunch. Please bring your own lunch. Teas, coffees and biscuits are provided and there are good kitchen facilities if needed.
They are held at The Scout Hall, Perth Academy, Oakbank Crescent, Perth. (Just inside the academy carpark main entrance)

BOOKINGS: Will be taken on a first come first served basis after distribution of the prospectus. Each workshop is limited to a maximum of 10 attendees.

KAREN van de GRAAF
Drawing Speedy Portraits from Life
Karen will demonstrate drawing speedy portraits of a model. She will spend some time engaging in conversation with her sitter whilst drawing. There will be practical advice about working fast with charcoal to capture a face. Karen will be adding soft pastels, sharing her favourite colours, some of which may surprise you! Also hoping to share a story or two about her years at the Fringe as an official portrait artist.

Make painting with Acrylic enjoyable and find ways to reduce your workload. Create a painting that is vibrant and artistic. Throw away the fear of being careful. Go boldly where you have never been before!!

Inspired in Japan
As a watercolour artist and tutor, Liz will talk about how her inspiration becomes a creation, the tools and process she uses. She will show images of her work and talk about her time in Japan. If there is time, join in and make an origami crane.

TOM BARRON
Seascape Alla Prima
Tom is a landscape and seascape painter, working professionally in oils on canvas since 1998. His aim is to present the subjects in a raw, naturalistic way, with loose, impasto technique. Alla Prima is wet on wet with free brushwork, giving movement and life to the finished works. in recent years, he has worked on large scale paintings, in single pieces and triptych works. Tom is the Gallery director and Curator for City Contemporary Art Gallery on Charlotte Street in Perth.

RODERICK GAULD
Where Land Meets Sea
A former commercial artist, Roddy works mainly in Acrylic and Oil, occasionally Watercolour, producing landscapes, seascapes, wild and domestic animals, aiming to capture the essence and atmosphere of the subject. Roddy will demonstrate a coastal scene with crashing waves in Acrylic.

Enter by the School car park at the top of Murray Place. The Scout Hall is on the right, past the Janitor’s House. There is disabled parking only, directly outside the hall.
